SALZBURG'S TRADITIONAL HOUSE IN THE HISTORIC CITY CORE

Between the horse pond and the Civil Hospital, located in the heart of the historic city core, is the restaurant "Alt Salzburg“. This structural cross section, in earlier times "the rear house at the hospital", was built in three sections 1350-1550 and one part as a dwelling house, on the other hand, utilized as a rental home.

From about 1950 was in the rooms of the rustic wine bar "Sigmund Klause“. 1971 - after a small expansion and renovation - the restaurant was established in its present form.

The restaurant has three rooms with a total capacity of around 75 seats, the special atmosphere of the "Felsenstube", which was built in the rock „Mönchsberg“.

For the past 21 years is the "Alt Salzburg“, under the leadership of the family Kögl and has gradually become the meeting place for gourmets from near and far.
Gradually, praise reports were written about the restaurant in numerous national and international gourmet magazines. Moreover, inclusion in the Austrian restaurant guide was not long in coming.

The kitchen brigade under the leadership of Officier Maitre Rotisseur Chef Johann Kögl, a master of the Austrian cuisine and quality fanatic unparalleled and the service at Gerlinde Kögl (good spirit of the house and for wine in charge) and Christian Denk (Restaurant Chef) for some memorable hours.
